Tim's 2003 Ford F150 King Ranch
No pictures of the outside yet!

This pic will have to do for now! So in other words it looks kinda like the photo above but different, its brown.
First we had to figure out where to put the equipment. Very little room. Especially behind the rear seat. Then we had to decide on the product to use. Great system needed great speakers, we chose FOCAL. Then the source - what to use, what to use ...........................
The source had to be
extraordinary, so we chose the Alpine CDA7898 preamp head unit.
Excellent head unit with controls from hell. One of the finest pieces I
have heard ever.
Front end is oh so important and the customer wished to use the factory locations if possible.
Quality above all so Focal 165k2 were chosen for the front end.
We installed the tweeter high in the door close to
the "A" pillar.
Then the 6.5" mid was placed in
the factory location

The speaker was installed like this behind the panel for a photo then a black grill cloth was glued over the opening inside the door panel to hide the speaker and blacken the opening.
Tim wanted great sound in the back seats as well so we used another set of the Focal Polykevlar. We tried to get 6.5" back there but there was no way to do it without some major modifications so alas we put in the 136k - 5.25" set.
Then we had to come up with some sort of bass. No system is complete without significant bottom end. We chose the amazing little Utopia 5WS subs by Focal. These speakers must be heard to be believed. Small enclosure and big fabulous accurate bass. Missing from the picture is the port tube. The enclosure was tuned at 52 hz and worked nicely. I would have like it a little lower but maybe next time we will have a little more room to work with.
Two small boxes connected via ABS 3: tube.
The truck even had a power rear sliding window
to get in the way.
Tim had an MTX Blue Thunder 5 channel amplifier that we used to run the whole system. Again limited space so the 5 channel took up less room. We added an Audio Control Overdrive line driver to bring the front end alive. The Overdrive unit works great and is really inexpensive. It made a world of difference with the sound quality of the front speakers.
The completed rear panel.
