"INTENSE"
THIS CUSTOMER WANTED TO RUN 4 - 15" SUBWOOFERS AND A PAIR OF MTX T2300 AMPLIFIERS MONOED INTO EACH PAIR OF 8 OHM DRIVERS. THE CATCH WAS "CASH FLOW". RESULT: THE BOX AND THE AMP RACK WERE BUILT TO ACCOMMODATE THE SECOND PAIR OF SUBS AND SECOND T2300 FOR INSTALLATION AT A LATER DATE.
FIRST
WE GUTTED MOST OF THE INTERIOR
. THEN WE ADDED QUITE A FEW LAYERS OF STINGER ROAD
KILL TO THE ROOF TO KEEP IT FROM FLEXING AND MAKING RUDE NOISES.
THIS DAMPENING MATERIAL WAS ALSO ADDED TO BOTH
DOORS AND ALL REAR SIDE PANELS.
"0" GAUGE POWER
WIRE WAS RUN
FROM THE BATTERY TO THE AMPIFIER RACK. THE
FACTORY TOY ALTERNATOR WILL BE REPLACED IN THE VERY NEAR FUTURE WITH A CUSTOM GM 160 AMP
UNIT WE HAVE BUILT FOR US.
THE FACTORY DOOR LOCATIONS WERE MODIFIED
TO ACCOMMODATE 2 PAIR
OF MTX T564 6.5" MIDBASS DRIVERS.
WE CHOSE THE MTX's 4" T5000 SERIES T54S COMBO SET
TO BE PLACED IN CUSTOM MADE KICKS.
THE 4 - 6.5" MTX T564 DOOR SPEAKERS AND THE
MTX T54S COMBO'S IN THE KICKS
WHERE ALL RUN OFF A WONDERFUL SOUNDING MTX T4300 4 X 37.5
WATT AMPLIFIER. ALL CROSSOVERS BUILT INTO THE AMPLIFIERS WERE UTILIZED. THE
HEAD UNIT A KEHP7650 HOOKED TO A CDXP620S 6 PAK CHANGER THAT WE
INSTALLED IN THE
DASH FOR
EASY ACCESS. THE HEAD UNIT RUNS THROUGH A PHOENIX GOLD LINE DRIVER FOR A LITTLE MORE
GAIN ON THE RCA LINE TO THE BASS AMPLIFIER ONLY. THEN THROUGH THE ABSOLUTELY
FABULOUS LSB1 OTHERWISE KNOWN AS "THE BLACK BOX". IF U HAVEN'T HEARD ONE
OF THESE PIECES, U MUST CHECK ONE OUT. YOU FIRST SET UP YOUR SOUND Q SETTINGS TO GET
YOUR BASS NICE. THEN A SECOND TRIGGER ON THE LSB1 TURNS ON THE BEAST SETTINGS.
THE LSB1 IS SET TO THE TUNING FREQUENCY OF THE ENCLOSURE WHICH WILL BE THE EASIEST
FREQUENCY THAT THE SUBWOOFER WILL REPRODUCE, WHICH IN TURN GIVES YOU A VERY HEALTHY BASS
BOOST WITH A NARROW FREQUENCY BAND WIDTH AT THE TUNING FREQUENCY OF THE ENCLOSURE.
YOU CLICK ON THE SECOND TRIGGER AND THE SPL SETTINGS RIP YOUR FREAKING HEAD OFF!
EASILY A 4 - 6 db GAIN IN SPL. ITS A SHAME THIS PIECE IS NO LONGER
AVAILABLE FROM MTX. VERY FEW INDIVIDUALS KNEW WHAT IT WAS AND HOW TO USE
IT. IF YOU CAN LAY YOUR HANDS ON ONE OF THESE GRAB IT. IT WILL IMPRESS THE HELL OUT OF YOU.
THE AMPLIFIER
RACK WAS INSTALLED RIGHT BEHIND
THE FRONT SEATS. THE SUB
ENCLOSURES FOR EACH 15"
ARE 2.2 CUBIC FEET PORTED AND TUNED TO 43 HZ. EACH
SUB
HAS ITS OWN ENCLOSURE
. THE BOX WAS BUILT SO IT COULD BE EASILY REMOVED AND THE SIDE
PANELS AS WELL CAUSE SHIT DOES HAPPEN AND CARS BREAK. THE SIDE PANELS ATTACHED TO
THE BOX CAN BE REMOVED TO ACCESS SHOCK TOWERS ETC. I AM NOT A 15" KINDA GUY BUT
WAS RATHER IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY SOUND OF THESE SUBS. THEY SOUNDED NICE AND
WHEN SWITCHED TO SPL MODE ON THE LSB1 REALLY HURT ME. THIS CAR HITS BUT WE
HAVE TO BE CAREFUL, DON'T HAVE ENOUGH POWER OFF THE TOY ALTERNATOR TO RUN THE CAR AND THE
SYSTEM. IT SHOULD BE INSTALLED SHORTLY.
